This incident occured just after I completed my post graduation and started working. Must have been around 26 years of age. Though a mech engr I joined an electrical equip firm’s marketing dept. I faced a lot of difficulty while discussing electrical drawings with consultants and clients.
A Senior consultant at a consultancy firm took me aside and told me that he will teach me how to read the drawings and hence can discuss better. He spared around 15 days for me and taught me a lot of things that too free of charge.
This became a turning point for me and I was able to bag a lot of orders after that. Unfortunately this person is no more but whenever possible, I visit his home.
